Nicholas Ruppman

Washington - A funeral Mass for Nicholas Christian Ruppman, 30, of 2610 N. Orchard, Unit F., Chicago, formerly of Washington, will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Washington. The Rev. James Swaner will officiate.

He was pronounced dead at 8:33 a.m. Sunday, August 22, 1999, in Chicago.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Deiters Funeral Home and one hour before services at the church. Burial will be in Glendale Cemetery.

He was born April 6, 1969, in Evanston to Walter C. and Joan Borsdorf Ruppman.

Surviving are his parents of Washington; one sister, Gabrielle (Joshua) Edwards of Peoria Heights; his fiancee, Sherrie K of Minneapolis; and his grandparents, Eugene Borsdorf of Stockton and Herman and Anna Ruppman of Broadview. He was proceeded in death by his maternal grandmother Mary Jane Borsdorf.

He was a 1987 graduate of Washington Community High School, where he was a member of the 1986 Class 4A State Championship football team.

He received his bachelor's degree in political science from Miami University in Oxford Ohio, in 1991, where he was a member and pledge educator of Phi Kappa Psi fraternity and a member of the Catholic Student Advisory Board.

He was a student at Kellogg School of Business at Northwestern University in Evanston.

He formerly worked for the city of Washington concrete crew. He was a sales manager for Sachs Group in Evanston, where he was named top revenue producer in 1995 and earned the Rising Star Award in 1994. He last worked as an investment executive for Paine Webber in Chicago.

He was active in Habitat for Humanity-Chicago Cares and Chicago Social League Football. He also founded the Sachs Group Youth Outreach Program.
